This week we’re celebrating #worldbookday by taking a look at our favourite book - “The Spirit of Rugby in Leek” authored by our very own Beverly Needham.

Beverly took up the task of compiling a history of rugby in Leek just after the club’s Twickenham Season and scoured endless reams of official club minutes, photographs and scrapbooks as well as talking with many club members past and present, to produce the definitive history of our club.

The book is full of historic moments, featuring famous (and infamous) players and members, stats, team photos, and wonderful anecdotes and memories from near on 100 years of history.

Indeed, many of the images you will see posted during our centenary year are taken from the book.
