Westwood College Year 10 Rugby team took part in the annual Staffordshire Schools U15s Sevens tournament held at Longton Rugby Club. The team was completely comprised of Leek RFC players.
Westwood were drawn against Thomas Alleynes (Uttoxeter), Walton High & Trentham High in the group stage. The boys dominated proceedings with the following results:

Westwood College 52 v 0 Thomas Alleynes

Westwood College 38 v 0 Walton High

Westwood College 39 v 0 Trentham High

In topping the group Westwood now progressed to the Cup Semi Final and faced the favorites St Joseph's College the boys were up to the task and won 26 - 10 in a physical game.
Now a final against The Rawlett School (Tamworth) followed and an emphatic performance saw Westwood victorious in a 59-0 win. This is the first time the College has won this event and the whole squad contributed with every player taking part in each game. The boys scored 33 tries between them conceding only 2.
