Leek 2nds held off a strong second half fightback from visitors Congleton to secure a try bonus point win and keep themselves in the promotion mix.

The hosts looked comfortable at half time with a 20-0 lead - two converted tries and two penalties. They stretched further ahead with two more tries early in the second half to lead 34-0, before injuries led to skipper Jack Winfield and Andy Thompson leaving the field.

Congleton, who had enjoyed plenty of chances through the game, came roaring back with four unanswered tries. But accuracy off the tee proved critical, with the visitors missing four of their five kicks at goal.
