Graham Leftwich7 Mar 2023 - 18:03

Firsts entertain Silhillians in front of past captains, 2s visit Wilmslow, 3s host Cannock

This Saturday is set to be a true celebration of community rugby at Leek’s Esterchem Park.

Our newly-crowned Regional 2 North Midlands league champion 1st XV welcome Silhillians for their final home game of the league season.

Fresh off the back of securing promotion, Leek’s team will be looking to finish their season off the right way against a dangerous travelling Sils side who have put together a great run in recent weeks.

Sils will be accompanied by their under 8s side who will play against Leek u8s in a curtain raiser before both sets of players run out as mascots for the senior sides.

Our 2nd XV make the short journey to Wilmslow looking to continue to apply pressure at the top of Nowirul Division 2 South.

And our 3rd XV welcome Cannock north for a league fixture.

The clubhouse will be open from Midday as we welcome our Past Captains for their annual pre-match lunch.

There will be live Six Nations rugby on the big screens with Italy v Wales at 2:15pm and Le Crunch England v France at 4:45pm.

We will have Pedigree and Old Speckled Hen on as guest ales for the day.

Ongoing throughout the afternoon our under 15s side will be completing a static cycle ride to Hoylake RUFC and back in a bid to raise funds for their forthcoming end of season tour .There will also be a cake sale to sustain everyone’s energy levels.

We will also be welcoming our club main sponsors Esterchem on the day as we look to celebrate with them and thank them for their continued support of our club.

And to cap it all off there will be a post-match French themed fancy dress and Apres-Ski party games and music to take us late into the night.

Given all that, we ask all visitors to please park responsibly, share cars and get lifts/taxis wherever possible to help us manage what is sure to be a very well-attended day of rugby.
