Leek rugby club’s annual bonfire and fireworks display has once again raised hundreds of pounds for charity.
The popular event, held at the club’s Altrad Park home in Cheddleton on 2 November, saw thousands of Moorlanders turn up to enjoy the show in return for a cash donation.
As well as raising money to support the club’s community activities, with 300 youngsters having fun, keeping fit and playing rugby every weekend, the event enables the club to support other deserving causes.
This year, donations include £200 to Cancer Research UK, £150 to the Staffordshire RFU injured players fund, £100 to Leek Building Society charitable trust and £100 to Moorlands Voluntary & Community Transport.
